Tawnya Lancaster’s entire career has been spent in publishing, public relations and marketing. She started as the North American advertising sales rep for a group of European publishers — technology and computer magazines — and then moved on to work as a writer and senior editor in New York City. From there, Tawnya was recruited by a Silicon Valley marketing communications agency, which brought her to the Bay Area to work with tech companies, as well as others in the public and private sector.
In 2004, Tawnya broke away from agency life and went out on her own, focused on working directly with a small group of clients, helping them with public relations and content creation to drive brand awareness. Last year, Tawnya met up with former colleague, Jen Hall, on a public relations project and when the two realized what a great team they make, HallCASTER Public Relations was born.
Tawnya considers herself a content creator who works with clients to create and develop branded collateral they can push out into the market, including articles, case studies, white papers, position papers, editorial pieces, video, “special events” for publicity and more. All of which is focused on driving brand awareness, improving SEO and building buzz.
During her career, Tawnya has worked with a diverse group of clients in the technology sector (this includes startups as well as larger, established companies), and in the financial services, real estate, retail and non-profit sectors.
The majority of Tawnya’s clients have remained with her for three or more years.
One of Tawnya’s strongest talents is as a strategic thinker, someone who can see the bigger picture. She is also an excellent writer and producer. Tawnya has ghost written numerous articles for executives in Silicon Valley and has published under my own name in regional and national magazines. She has also been invited to participate in the Stanford Professional Publishing Course, an exclusive, intensive nine-day international course for mid-career professionals in book and magazine publishing hosted by Stanford University.
